Democrat Joe Biden leads Republican Donald Trump in new polls released Sunday morning by Fox News and The Washington Post-ABC News.
Fox News reported the “coronavirus infected the election” as it posted an eight-point lead for former Vice President Biden — at 49 percent over Trump’s 41 percent.
A new poll from Washington Post-ABC News showed Biden with a larger lead over Trump: 55 percent to 40 percent among registered voters.
Both polls attributed the numbers to the impact of the pandemic.

Deaths in the United States from COVID-19 passed 140,000 early on Sunday, according to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Centre, as a bitter showdown occurs between the White House and its critics over how to handle the pandemic.
About 5,000 Americans are dying every week to the novel coronavirus amid a second resurgence that has far surpassed the first peak in April.
The U.S. is now recording more deaths due to COVID-19 in one week then China’s total body count since the pandemic began in late 2019. North of the border, Canada has recorded 8,800 fatalities since its first case earlier this year.
The World Health Organization on Saturday reported a record increase for a second day in a row with coronavirus cases rising by 259,848 over the span of 24 hours.
