U.K. Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has today been discharged from hospital after contracting Covid-19.
Mr. Johnson had spent 3 days in intensive care at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London last week before being moved onto a ward.
A Downing Street spokesperson said that the PM would be recuperating at his country residence, Chequers and although remaining in touch with colleagues would not be working during his recovery period.
The Prime Minister later Tweeted a message thanking the staff of the NHS for, “…saving my life”.
Mr. Johnson’s fiancée, Carrie Symonds, who is pregnant with their first child, said, “I cannot thank our magnificent NHS enough. The staff at St Thomas’ Hospital have been incredible. I will never, ever be able to repay you and I will never stop thanking you.”
Ms. Symonds is currently self-isolating after displaying Covid-19 symptoms.
