(PM) – On Tuesday, Sen. Kamala Harris announced that she is suspended her presidential campaign.
In a Medium post, Harris stated that: “it is with deep regret- but also with deep gratitude- that I am suspending my campaign today. But I want to be clear with you all: I am still very much in this fight.”
Earlier today, Senator Harris canceled a high profile New York fundraiser due to ‘personal reasons’.
Recently, an aide working for Sen. Harris left her campaign to work with Bloomberg. In her resignation letter, the aide stated: “this is my third presidential campaign and I have never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly.”
In November, Harris shut down operations in New Hampshire to focus on the Iowa Caucus. Harris’ campaign spent 122.9% of all dollars donated, according to the Washington Examiner.
A recent Nationwide poll by The Hill showed Harris at 2%, falling behind five other candidates in the race.
Sen. Harris gained national attention in June when she placed 2nd behind only Joe Biden in multiple polls.
