(PM) – At least 93 people have been killed after five days of violent anti-government protests in Iraq. The protest marks the worst violence in the country since the insurgency of ISIS in 2017.
Multiple government officials and lawmakers across the country have been accused of different types of corruption. Protesters also complained about poor living conditions.
Iraq Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi stated in an address that there is no ‘magic solution’ to this issue and called for calm. Internet outages have been reported across the country.
