(PM) – Firefighters are battling a brush fire, deemed as Wendy Fire, in the Newbury Park area of Ventura County, California. The fire is now 60 acres, according to Bernie Deyo.
Ventura County Fire officials say the blaze is burning at a moderate rate of spread and is moving into open space, away from residential homes. Officials say that they’re having trouble reaching the area due to the terrain.
Potrero Rd is closed due to the fire.
There are no injuries or damage at this point from the fire. The cause of the blaze is being investigated. The fire formed at around 7 PM local time.
