(PM) — Japan’s Coast Guard announced it had identified ballistic missile launches from North Korea and warned ships to stay manifest of any debris. The launch arises a week after another round of missile tests in North Korea.
The Japanese Defense ministry authenticated to NBC News that a projectile seems to have been launched from North Korea, but it has not entered Japanese territory or the Exclusive Economic Zone.
Yonhap news agency, citing South Korean military, announced North Korea has fired two projectiles into the sea off its eastern coast.
South Korea’s joint chiefs of staff said North Korea discharged them from around Sondok, South Hamgyong Province, according to Yonhap.
South Korea’s presidential office is holding a National Security Council meeting regarding North Korea’s projectile launch, the office announced in a statement.
