(PM)- New York Senator Kristen Gillibrand has announced that she is withdrawing from the Democratic Presidential race on Wednesday.
Throughout her campaign, Gillibrand was not able to raise significant funds and consistently averaged one percent or less in national polls. The decision comes after she failed to qualify for the third debate.
Gillibrand will endorse another candidate, according to the New York Times. However, she stated that “I will support whoever the nominee is, and I will do whatever it takes to beat Trump.”
Ms. Gillibrand is known or her advocacy towards women’s rights and abortion rights. She stated that she would return to the Senate and will focus on “electing women up and down the ballot,” for the 2020 elections.
