(PM) – According to Haaretz, the Israeli Army has foiled an attempt by armed Palestinian militants to enter Israel. According to the article, the militants were armed with “AK-47 assault rifles, hand grenades, and a rocket-propelled grenade launcher.” At least one of the armed militants was killed after crossing the border.
The recent conflict between Gazan militants and Israel has been flaring up over the past few weeks. Last week, three soldiers were injured after a Hamas militant opened fire on Israeli soldiers. The militant died by Israeli gunfire.
Earlier this week, a 19-year-old Israeli soldier and yeshiva student was stabbed to death in a West Bank settlement. The suspect is still at large.
