(PM) – On Monday night, Warriors’ superstar Kevin Durant left the game in the 2nd quarter after suffering an achilles injury. The Warriors believe that the MRI will confirm a torn right achilles, according to ESPN.
Bob Myers, President and General Manager for the Golden State Warriors, said that Durant suffered an Achilles injury and will get an MRI tomorrow.
With tears in his eyes, Myers stated that Durant “is one of the most misunderstood people. He’s a good person and he’s a good teammate. It’s not fair. I’m lucky to know him.” He further said: “ Sports is people. I know Kevin takes a lot of hits sometimes but he just wants to play basketball, and right now he can’t. Basketball has gotten him through his life. So I don’t know if we can understand what it means to him.”
When Steve Kerr was asked if he regrets bringing Durant back, he stated: “I’m going to leave that to Bob (Myers).”
Klay Thompson also responded to Durant’s injury, stating that “I want to win it for him. It’s hard to celebrate this win.”
Durant was seen on crutches and in a walking boot after the injury.
Durant made a statement on Instagram saying: “I’m hurting deep in the soul right now I can’t lie but seeing my brothers get this win was like taking a shot of tequila, i got new life lol.”
