(PM)- Theresa May is expected to inform Sir Graham Brady about her departure plans, according to a report by LBC.
According to the report, Theresa May will meet with the Committee chairman at 9 AM local time to inform him of her departure plans. She is expected to make an announcement after the meeting.
The Mirror further reports that she will announce her resignation date to the public today. The report states that she is expected to resign on June 10th, following U.S. President Trump’s visit to the country and D-Day commemorations.
The announcement will come after three years of gridlock on a Brexit deal. Earlier this week, PM May offered a new compromised Brexit deal including a possible second referendum.
Ken Clark, the father of the House of Commons, said that most Conservative MPs casted their vote against the Conservative party in yesterday’s European parliament elections.
If the Prime Minister refuses to leave, the committee’s executive held a secret ballot on changing party rules to allow an immediate vote of confidence, according to Irish Times.
An Ipsos Mori poll predicted that the Conservative Party will finish in 5th place before Thursday’s Parliament vote occurred. The Brexit Party, led by Nigel Farage, led the poll with 35 percent. The liberal democrats posted 20 per cent and the Labour party was predicted to receive 15 per cent.
