For the past several days, models have been sniffing out tropical development in the western Caribbean into the later part of next week. This should coincide close with the beginning of the Atlantic hurricane season, which begins June 1st.
The catalyst seems to be the Central American gyre or “CAG” for short. CAG’s are large areas of cyclonic spin and are known for dumping tremendous amounts of rainfall. They are also known for being incubators for tropical genesis. Given the warm waters located in the Caribbean this could spell trouble.
You never truly know what Mother Nature will throw at you. That’s why we’re here to keep you posted. As for now, it seems that if something develops it won’t be until later next week. So just relax and enjoy your memorial weekend and we will provide updates as they roll in.
